What's Permaculture?

Permaculture is a philosophy for sustainable gardening that works with, not against, nature by understanding her systems, patterns, and organisms. It is the harmonious integration of landscape, people, and appropriate technologies to nourish people and the earth in a way that’s sustainable and regenerative.

  • Feathered Friends: Help care for our chickens!

  • Garden Skills: Learn composting, watering, pruning, weeding, harvesting, and mulching.

  • Healthy Treats: Prepare and share delicious, healthy foods.

  • Outings: Explore a local community farm and see big-scale growing in action.

Become a Nature Expert:

  • Observe and learn from nature.

  • Study plants and animals, with special focus on California native plants.

  • Understand characteristics of nature

  • Design gardens that work with nature’s characteristics.
